INDIAN POET & WRITER | MENTAL HEALTH ADVOCATE
Smita Sahay is an Indian writer who writes primarily in English. Her poems, short fiction, book review essays and author interviews are published nationally and internationally. She has read her poetry at 100 Thousand Poets for Change in Pune and Mumbai, the Prakriti Poetry Festival, Chennai and PEN @ Prithvi, Mumbai. She co-conceptualized and served as Associate Editor of ‘Veils, Halos & Shackles: International Poetry on the Oppression and Empowerment of Women’. She is also a core team member of Cappuccino Readings, a poetry reading initiative in Mumbai. After completing her MBA from the Indian School of Business, Smita co-founded AccioHealth, a startup which addresses the unmet requirements related to mental health by creating awareness, simple diagnostic tools and mobile app based therapy. Smita is a computer engineer by education and worked at Accenture as an SAP consultant before pursuing literature full time.
